Job Details:
- Pay Rate: $22 - $30 per hour
- Position: Press Brake/ Laser Cutter
- Second Shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM)
Position Summary:
Perform a variety of machine operations related to the setup, programming, cutting, sheet metal, and aluminum, to produce a wide variety of components for various assemblies and other products. Set up the machine, use existing programs to align raw materials, and operate the machine to produce parts to established designs and tolerances. Make machine adjustments as necessary to maintain quality levels.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Follow all safety procedures and always work in a safe manner.
2. Receive work assignments and make sure that the necessary materials, supplies, prints, tools, quality control equipment, etc. are available to perform the work.
3. Set up the work area and machine, and perform the machine operations in the appropriate sequence, ensuring the proper positioning of materials as to location, side, left-right, etc.
4. Check the quality of the materials going through the machine operation, and the quality of the completed components as to correctness and established tolerances.
5. Alert supervision to any problems.
6. Follow all safety and health rules as established by the company and perform the job with sufficient care so as to prevent injury to oneself and to others.
7. Immediately report accidents, incidents, or unsafe conditions to supervision.
8. Swipe a time card for the proper recording of time worked and production time measurement.
9. Keep the work area neat and orderly and perform other departmental duties as required
Manual Effort Applied: moving sheet metal, most by mechanical means, some lifting.
Required Qualifications :
Job Requirements
Education: Sufficient formal education to read and write and communicate effectively. High School Diploma preferred.
Experience: This is a trainable position. Six months of machine operator experience is preferred.
Skills: Ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Must take direction well from their supervisor and follow instructions. Good attitude. Able to work as part of a team. Ability to lift required loads. Manual dexterity to sufficiently handle tools and materials required for this position. Attention to detail. Must be able to work well with fellow co-workers.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Experienced employees in this position may train new hires at the discretion of the Shift Supervisor.
Physical Demands: Standing, bending, and reaching. Relatively mid to high noise level. Must wear safety glasses and steel-toe shoes. Lifting often, Manual dexterity is required to operate the equipment. Normal range of vision and hearing.
Mental Demands: Ability to follow directions. Read and understand and complete required paperwork.
Working Conditions: Typically a standard set shift. Occasional overtime. Factory setting. Moderate noise level.
Reasonable Accommodation: Reasonable accommodation could be achieved in this position in rare cases.
