Process Engineer!

Summary


This position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the company's processes to ISO documented procedures.  This includes UHV cleaning, selective chemical stripping, surface texturizing, coatings, and SPC control of all processes. This position also requires expert failure analysis, process improvements and technical customer relations.


 


 


Essential duties and responsibilities: Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 




Responsibilities include: Developing, editing, maintenance and continuous improvement of assigned company's US processes to ISO documented procedures.  Work with operations on PM procedures, equipment calibration, service, installation, qualification and facility design. Come up with “Design of Experiments”, perform the experiments and develop conclusions and recommendations from those DOE’s to company's US management.  Take leadership in the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of company's US SPC process controls.  Perform “Failure Analysis” on customer and internal company's processes, equipment and parts using internal inspection equipment and outside labs. Engineer must have the ability to analyze data gathered by both internal inspection and outside lab analysis data.   Always maintain, adhere and promote environmentally sound and safe working processes and practices.  Communicate directly with customer technical personnel and support company's Sales in customer meetings as may be requested.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:


Preferred employee will have at minimum a BS or MS in a technical field (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science) with 5+ year’s process and/or failure analysis engineering experience.  The employee can also have a PhD degree in a technical field (same as above) with less than 5 years experience in a process engineering role that has included R&D functions in at least one of the following areas, chemical cleaning, coatings, coating/film removal, and thin film deposition or etching with some failure analysis.


 


Employee must be proficient in MS Word and Excel software programs. Employee must have general knowledge and basic usage understanding of Microsoft Access, PowerPoint, and SPC software programs.


 


LANGUAGE SKILLS:


Must be proficient in English and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.  Employee must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.  Employee must possess the ability to write simple correspondence. Also have the ability to write reports and business correspondence.  Including the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, auditors, and company's management.


 


REASONING ABILITY:


Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form.   Have the ability to deal with problems involving standard practices. Ability to think and assembly information into a rational step-by-step process

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, stand, kneel, bend and reach. Job requires the regular use of computers, telephones and other communication devices.  Employee must be able to access confined spaces when necessary. Employee will be required on occasions to travel by car and airplanes. Employee will also be working with and around chemicals and possibly be required to wear and use a respirator device along with the appropriate PPE for the area and work being performed.




WORK ENVIRONMENT:


Most of the work day will be in manufacturing/factory areas that include but not limited to process chemical baths, grit blasters, thermal spray booths, machine tools, QC labs, Cleanrooms, and shipping and receiving areas.  But time will be spent in office areas, customer sites, building support spaces and roof tops of facilities. The office areas will be clean, well-lighted and well-ventilated. Use of protective safety equipment will be required while working in all production/manufacturing areas per company's PPE protocols.

Required Qualifications :


  • Education – PhD preferred.  Material Science background preferred.

  • Strong chemical knowledge or background

  • MFG experience and/or knowledge preferred (knowledge of work-flow instructions)

  • Semiconductor experience preferred

  • Understanding of material coatings or removal of said coatings (ceramic, metallic, silicon carbide, anodization, etc.)

  • Metrology and/or critical dimension experience preferred (CMM, Profilometer, etc.)

  • Willingness to control and monitor site-wide SPC metrics


 Compensation for the position is based on industry experience and knowledge (approximately $100k)
